A 1000 hp ’68 Dodge Charger by Speedkore

Speedkore builds a 1968 Dodge Charger with 1000 horsepower “Hellucination” for Stellantis “Ralph Gill”

We grew up hearing the engine sounds of these cars! We are luckier than you, new generation! Could you please look at this work of art? Can it be compared to modern cars at all? Is it possible? I look at every curve with love and I am a fan of these powerful cars.

The 1968 Dodge Charger is already an icon in its own right, but when you combine it with the mind of Stellantis lead designer Ralph Gill and the folks at SpeedKore, you end up with some greater than the sum of its parts. With 1,000 horsepower and a full carbon fiber body, this beast is known simply as Hellucination.

Somehow, the Hellephant V8’s 1,000 hp (745 kW) and ZF eight-speed automatic transmission weren’t the only stars on this show. That power is developed, in part, thanks to the use of a 3.0-liter supercharger that delivers 15 pounds of boost and ends up at the rear wheels not only, but the entire drivetrain is also wrapped into an impressive package.

The exterior of the 1968 Charger is covered almost entirely in carbon fiber and finished with a clear coat that shows off the texture. The Hood is a completely custom unit created by SpeedKore. They also built a carbon fiber floor and wheel pods for this Charger, so the ultra-lightweight material is everywhere you look throughout the chassis.

HRE wheels are found detailed with the Hellucination name on each corner with 19-inch wheels in the front and 20 in the rear. Giant 345-section Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rear tires help cut power.

When it comes to braking, Brembo’s large six-piston brake calipers do most of the work while it uses LED charger tail lights to alert those lucky enough to park behind the car to slow down. Those who are back there will enjoy the amazing sound of this engine that comes through the SpeedKore exhaust system.

Gilles has given directions throughout the building, and that includes the interior as well as where you’ll find a mix of old school style with new style switches. There are classic analog gauges in front of the steering wheel and a large Hellephant badge in the middle of the tachometer.

We see all kinds of different packages for different muscle cars but this is a different beast. Ralph Gill is the same person responsible for the design of the updated Dodge Magnum, Chrysler 300C and Dodge Viper. This makes this car a special breed of muscle.
